The eco-friendly food company Nenia Co., Ltd., an agricultural corporation, held a groundbreaking ceremony on July 30 at its site on Mayusan-ro in Okcheon-myeon, Yangpyeong-gun, to begin construction of a new logistics center. This development is expected to serve as a springboard for Nenia’s second stage of growth, as well as a key opportunity to lead the eco-friendly food industry through supply chain innovation. Approximately 40 people attended the ceremony, including CEO Moon Young-jin, company employees, and representatives from the construction firm.
The new Yangpyeong Logistics Center will be built on a 6,678㎡ (approximately 2,000 pyeong) site at 354 Mayusan-ro, Okcheon-myeon. The facility will consist of one underground level and three above-ground floors, and will include a 400-pyeong cold storage warehouse equipped with the latest cold chain systems, a 300-pyeong ambient storage warehouse, as well as office spaces. The target completion date is February 2026.
During the ceremony, CEO Moon stated, “I view the completion of the logistics center very positively in terms of business expansion,” and emphasized that Nenia aims to grow together with the local community. He also remarked, “One of the most fortunate aspects is that the logistics team and other departments have so far been working separately. Once the new logistics center is completed, I hope it will serve as a space that fosters mutual respect and consideration.” Employees expressed their hopes for the safety of the construction site and for the successful and smooth completion of the project.
Nenia is an eco-friendly food company founded in 2004. Through 32 regional business units and directly managed operations across the country, as well as regional and joint meal support centers, the company supplies eco-friendly and low-carbon food to approximately 4,000 facilities nationwide, including infant daycare centers, kindergartens, elementary, middle, and high schools, alternative schools, and military food service operations.
In addition, Nenia operates its own online shopping mall, allowing general consumers to purchase its products directly, while also conducting sales through distribution partners. At present, the company is using a logistics center in Gonjiam on a lease basis.
Through the construction of the new logistics center, Nenia expects not only to secure a stable and efficient logistics system, but also to make a positive contribution to the regional economy of Yangpyeong-gun, including through job creation and increased local tax revenue. The company expressed its hope for continued public interest and support.
